XML and EPUB conversion for publishers
Journals and book publishers increasingly need the same manuscript as structured XML, as an accessible EPUB and as a print PDF. We convert from Word or LaTeX into all three from one source, so the versions never drift apart.
Who this is for
- Small academic and scientific publishers without an in-house production team.
- Societies that publish a journal and need JATS XML for indexing.
- Authors preparing a book for both print and ebook.
What you get
- 1.JATS (journals) or BITS (books) XML.
- 2.EPUB 3 with navigation, alternative text for images where you provide it, and readable mathematics.
- 3.The print PDF typeset in LaTeX from the same source.
- 4.Every file checked before delivery with the official validators: W3C EPUBCheck for EPUB and the JATS or BITS schema for XML, with the report included.
- 5.A manuscript check before conversion, so problems are reported to you instead of copied into every format.
How it works
1. Send one chapter
Send one chapter (Word or LaTeX) through the contact form.
2. Free conversion
We convert it free, to all the formats you need, and send the files with the validator reports.
3. Fixed price
If the result is right for you, you get a fixed price for the whole book or issue, in writing.
4. Corrections and final files
A corrections round, then final files.
Price
Fixed price per book or issue, in writing, after the free sample chapter. Prices are in USD and exclude VAT.
When we say no
- Retyping from scanned pages.
- A deadline without the final manuscript.
- Formats we cannot validate.
Work is in writing and asynchronous: questions, scope and delivery by email, no meetings needed.
