KDP accepts 24 to 828 pages here.
Minimum margins for 200 pages: inside (gutter) 0.5", outside, top and bottom 0.25" without bleed or 0.375" with bleed.
Spine width: 0.450 in (11.4 mm). Full cover: 12.700 in (322.6 mm) wide x 9.250 in (234.9 mm) high, bleed included. At 300 dpi: 3810 x 2775 pixels.
Spine text: allowed.
2. Check your files
Want a person to check the whole book? I have typeset books for more than twenty years. Write to us on the contact page and describe the book: format, trim size, page count and where you publish (KDP, Leanpub or both). The check on this page stays free.
What happens to your file. Nothing is uploaded. Your browser opens the PDF with the open-source pdf.js library and measures it on your computer. We do not see the file, the title or the result, and we set no cookies for this.
What this checks, and its limits
- Every figure comes from KDP's own help pages, read on 27 October 2026: trim size, bleed and margins and cover and spine. KDP can change them; its pages win.
- Margins are measured from the position of the text only. Images, lines and backgrounds are not measured, and rotated text is skipped.
- It does not check fonts, image resolution, colour or the content itself. KDP's Print Previewer remains the final check before you publish.
- Page limits and trims are the kdp.amazon.com lists. Amazon Japan has its own.
- If something cannot be read, it says "Could not check". We never treat an error as "no problem". We promise no result.
