How I Built Goldlett: A Shopify + Klaviyo Store From Scratch

Disclosure: I am a validated Klaviyo partner, so the Klaviyo link here is an affiliate link and I earn a commission if you sign up through it. Everything below is a real store I own and run, not a hypothetical.

I do not just write about Shopify and email marketing. I run a real store on the same stack I set up for clients. It is called Goldlett, a gold-jewelry shop I built from scratch, and this is exactly how it was built, so you can see what I would build for you.

The store: Shopify, done properly

Goldlett runs on Shopify with a fast, modern theme, personalized gold-plated jewelry made to order through a print-on-demand supplier, so there is no inventory to hold. The priorities were the ones that actually move a store: fast pages, a clean mobile-first layout, trust in the first screen (real product photography, reviews, a clear shipping promise), and structured data so Google and AI answer engines understand the products.

The email: a lifecycle that recovers revenue

Most stores leave money on the table because they send one generic newsletter and nothing else. Goldlett runs a real lifecycle stack:

  • A welcome flow for new subscribers.
  • Browse and cart recovery, the single biggest lever for a young store, because someone who added an item and left is the warmest lead you have.
  • Post-purchase and review requests to build the social proof that lifts conversion.

For the recovery flow I went a step further and rebuilt it through an API with an AI agent, which caught real bugs before a single customer saw them. I wrote that up in the hands-on review, and I compared the tools in Klaviyo vs Shopify Email. If Klaviyo is the right fit for your store, you can start with Klaviyo here.

The growth system

A store is not just a website. Goldlett's growth stack includes paid social to test demand, a pay-for-performance affiliate program so creators are paid only on real sales, and a review flywheel that turns happy buyers into the proof that sells the next one. Each piece is unremarkable on its own; together they compound.

Why this matters for you

Everything here is the same system I build and run for clients: a fast Shopify store, an email lifecycle that recovers revenue instead of just sending campaigns, and a growth stack that compounds. The difference is that I test it on my own money first, so what you get is what actually works, not theory.

If you want a Shopify store with email that recovers revenue, that is exactly the Shopify and email service. And you can always see the real thing live at goldlett.com.
